Customer Services Specialists Committee

The Customer Service Specialists Committee began in 2003 when customer service managers from Tempe, Mesa and Gilbert got together and decided that the valley cities would benefit from sharing information. Meetings were held 3-4 times a year for the purpose of sharing policies, ideas, training and networking for customer service and meter services staff. In July 2015, the AZ Water Association voted to formally include this committee under their umbrella. Our goal is to continue to add to our membership and extend outside the Phoenix area.

Vision

Our vision is to promote excellent customer service among municipal and private utility service entities in the state of Arizona.

 

Mission

The mission of the Customer Service Specialists' Committee is to support the advancement of customer service in the water utility industry, including field staff.

 

Goals

  • Promote the exchange of information between cities and private utilities regarding utility customer service.
  • Identify common goals and challenges and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information.
  • Discuss the development and implementation of new regulations and technologies.
  • Promote Best Practices among members.

 

Strategies

  • Maintain an active and motivated membership.
  • Participate in the annual Arizona Water Association Conference, presenting on customer service.
  • Develop and maintain a dynamic site on the AZ Water Association website that is useful to the members.

Leslie Giltner wrote on the Special Interest: Customer Service Specialists wall: Good morning from the City of Phoenix, The City of Phoenix currently does not offer same day service for new service activation. I am wondering are any of the other municipalities offering that service, if so is there a fee and what is the cost. The City of Phoenix is giving the idea some thought.
