Setting Up Notifications Presentation

Posted By Melinda Whittington, Monday, January 28, 2019

I have inserted the file from the meeting about how to set up notifications. The question was raised about whether a person would receive a notice if a new topic was started in an existing blog. Or, would a notification go out if a new blog is started. We have two main blogs - one is the committee news blog and the other is Customer Service Specialists Committee Blog. Perhaps we choose to only keep one of the blogs. The forum has only the general discussion forum so it may be easier to post here and on the wall.

The important thing with the Blog is to subscribe at the highest level to ensure that you get all of the notifications.

City Rate Adjustments

Posted By Leslie Giltner, Thursday, August 30, 2018

Here is some information that has been passed around recently on rates!

Please add to it if your city has recently made some rate adjustment or will be soon!

Lisa Hord, Buckeye:

The only rate increase we have approved is the solid waster increase that will go into effect on 11/01/18.  We are just wrapping up our rate study for water/sewer.  Here are our new approved rates for solid waste. We do our best not make water/sewer rates effective during the summer months due to the increased usage. Our last increase went into effect January of 2017.

20.90 96 Gallon

11.95 Vacation Hold 96 Gallon

13.83 Additional Can

33.48 In Ground Can

18.24 Vacation Hold In-Ground Can

John Gaio, Goodyear

Don Rhoden, Surprise,

City of Surprise is undergoing a study of its Water, Wastewater and Solid Waste utility rates and we are planning rate adjustments to go into effect July 1, 2019.

City of Glendale has an approved rate increase for Solid Waste that will go into effect January 1, 2019

Anthony Mangini,, Scottsdale

  • Commercial Water Hauler (WHAUL3 rate):  Capital Recovery fee increase FROM $10 TO $15 *This is in addition to the normal Base Fee.
  • Base Fee Increase (see attached rate sheet)
  • Tiers 3-5 fee Increase (see attached rate sheet)  *Single Fam (tiers 3-5), Multi/Com/Irrig (tiers 3-4 since there is no 5th)

Teresa Simpson, Mesa

The City of Mesa rate increases went into effect 7/1/2018. We have no additional planned increases prior to 7/1/2019.

Leslie Giltner, Gilbert

We go to council 9/20 to request rate increases to be effective 11/1.  The big change is we are moving from a winter average for residential sewer to a fixed rate.  Changes are for water, sewer and refuse.  We are adding an environmental compliance fee to all accounts for stormwater and air quality and reducing refuse slightly to accommodate the change.  First rate increase since 2009.
