Forum Rules and Notices Locked Topic 0 W. Kenning   Rules Do not ask for or post any personal information or request a member’s e-mail address or phone number in any message. All messages in this forum can be read by the general public. If you are signed-in you can contact a message author privately by clicking on the author’s name within the message or by searching the Association’s member database and then sending them a message or e-mail. Spamming, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, solicitations and double posting of messages are not allowed. The definition of spam is a message post that is irrelevant, advertising or self-promoting. Do not spam the forums with links to your site or product, or try to self-promote your website, business or forums etc. Spamming also includes sending private messages to a large number of different users. Any post considered spam will be removed. No hacking or illegal activity, such as torrents and illegal downloads, will be tolerated and, if appropriate, may be reported to the local authority. Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on these forums. Providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain copyrighted materials is forbidden. Trolling behavior will not be tolerated. A troll is a person who posts inflammatory messages, to disrupt the discussion or to upset its participants. Insulting and flaming or personal attacks against members or moderators will not be tolerated.   Notices Note that it is impossible for the AZ Water Association to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of the members or moderators of this forum or the AZ Water Association.   Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable or contains copyrighted material is encouraged to notify a moderator of this forum immediately. If an inappropriate message is encountered please report it using to the forum moderator using the Report option locate at the top of the message. The moderators will review all posts reported to them but may not take action if they deem no rule to have been broken or that no further action is necessary. You may not receive a response from the moderation once they have reviewed the reported post. Every report is addressed. Please do not report something more than once.  Multiple reports per topic, duplicate or frivolous reports will be deemed abuse and subject to warning.   The AZ Water Association reserves the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process so please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.   The AZ Water Association reserves the right to close or delete any topic or message that it considers inappropriate. This policy applies to member profile information as well as forum posts.

General Posting Guidelines Locked Topic 0 W. Kenning Post a descriptive topic name. Do not use attention getting topic names or topic names in all CAPITALS. Do not post your message text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary. Refrain from using bold or colored fonts or other effects within you messages as it detracts from the message’s content. Avoid using an excessive number of emoticons in your message as they can be distracting. Refrain from using signatures with links or images in your message as you may increase the risk of revealing personal information like your IP Address and web browser type. Refrain from posting messages with embedded images larger than 1024 W x 768 H pixels. This is considerate to members with slow internet speeds, reduces storage requirements on the server and displays nicely within the forum. Refrain from posting messages with embedded videos. Instead, post a link to the video (e.g. a link to YouTube®). This is considerate to members with slow internet speeds and reduces storage requirements on the server. Note: An embedded video file must be less than 30 MB in size. A permanent link to a forum message can be obtained by using the Permalink option located at the top of the message. After clicking the Permalink option copy the link shown in your browser’s address line. Rather than veering off-topic, start a new topic in the appropriate forum and post a link in the original topic. Do not cross post your message in multiple forums. There is normally one forum which is most suitable in which to post your question. Do not bump a topic. "Bumping" is the act of creating a new duplicative topic or adding to a thread just to get your topic back to the top of the list in a forum. If a topic you created has received no replies you cannot repost that topic. You may post within the topic again provided you include additional information about your problem. The fact that you desperately need help does not count as additional information. Do not post copyright-infringing material without specific permission from the author. When permission is granted, please cite all appropriate references. Links to external web pages, images or media are allowed within messages. However, when links are embedded within messages they must be configured to open the web page, image or media in a new window to so as to provide a forum user a visual clue that they have left the AZ Water Association’s website. Do not post any offensive posts including links to web pages, images or media that might be considered offensive. Use appropriate language in your messages and do not post inappropriate material. You are responsible for the content of your messages. Always treat other members with the respect they deserve. This should go without saying, but treat others like you would like to be treated! Remember when people help you they are doing you a favor. Be patient waiting for a response to your question and always be courteous. Lead by example and help other forum users by answering their questions! Use common sense while posting. All posts should be professional and courteous. This is a web site for water and wastewater industry professionals. If an inappropriate message is encountered please report it using to the forum moderator using the Report option located at the top of the message.

How can I send a private e-mail or message to a forum message author? If you are signed-in you can contact a message author privately by clicking on the author’s name within the forum message. This will display the author's membership profile page. If the author's private e-mail address is displayed in their membership profile then you can click on the e-mail address to send an e-mail to the author using your personal e-mail program. If the author's private e-mail address is not displayed in their membership profile then you can send a message to the author using the website's built-in messaging service. To send a message using the website's messaging service click on the 'Message' menu located under the member's name at the top of the member's profile page. This will open the Message Center with a pre-addressed message to the author. Fill in the subject line, optionally attach a file, type your message and click the 'Send Now' button to send the message. Please note that there is a system limit of 1 file attachment and the file cannot be larger than 30 MB in size. You can send multiple files by compressing them into a ZIP file. This will work as long as the ZIP file is less than 30 MB in size.  How do I create a signature for messages I post in forums? You can create a signature by either clicking the forum's 'Tread Actions' drop down box and selecting the 'My Subscriptions & Settings' option or navigating to the Community section within your membership profile and clicking on the 'Forum Settings' subsection. The signature will display at the bottom of each post you submit in any forum.
