For the past 6 years, the Young Professionals (YP) Committee has been organizing a student poster contest at the annual AZ Water Conference. The competition begins with submitting a 200 word abstract. CLICK HERE to go to the submission form. Abstract deadline is February 14th. Abstracts will be evaluated based on their relevance to the water and wastewater industry.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $30 (collected after abstracts acceptance).  Registration cost cover printing of the poster, 1-day conference registration, and 1- food and drink ticket to the conference BBQ.  The contest is held on Wednesday at the conference from 2:30-3:30pm in the Exhibition Hall.  Winners are announced at the Awards Reception at the Hyatt from 6-7:30pm.

  • Once an abstract has been accepted, the student will need to submit their poster (in PowerPoint or PDF format) by a designated deadline.  The posters will be printed for the student and will be set up at the start of the conference Wednesday. Posters will be displayed for the entire day Wednesday and Thursday before the contest.  Students must be present at the contest to qualify for an award.

Posters are intended for an Industry Professional audience and shall be evaluated by a special panel based on the following criteria:

Style: Clear and readable, visually attractive, effective graphics.

Organization:  Logical presentation of ideas, methods and results.
