Pretreatment Committee

Vision

Clean and sustainable sewer infrastructure and waterways throughout Arizona

 

 

Mission

The Pretreatment Committee's mission is to effectively and sustainably protect the Publicly Owned Treatments Works systems, and waterways as well as providing a platform for education, collaboration, and support from agencies and policy makers within the State of Arizona through four pillars of pretreatment.

 

 

Goals

The Pretreatment Committee has established four pillars with the following goals:

 

  • Educational Awareness- Provide a training and educational base for all public agency and private stakeholders.
  • Effectiveness- Ensure every POTW establish and maintains an effective industrial pretreatment.
  • National Presence- Establish Arizona as a national leader in industrial pretreatment through 360 degree communication with out of state programs, as well as participation in national conferences and training, and regular dialogue with our EPA coordinator.
  • Quality-Apply a common sense platform for that promotes a consistent, efficient, and sustainable base for program functionality.

AZ FOG Group

The AZ Water Association's Pretreatment Committee hosts the Arizona Fats, Oils, and Grease (AZFOG) Group. The AZFOG Group comprises municipal pretreatment agencies, public and private sewer districts, non-hazardous liquid waste haulers, treatment facilities, and manufacturers of treatment devices and is independent of the AZ Water Association.
