Attachments: Every course will have downloadable attachments in pdf format, including at a minimum: a course outline, an Acronyms and Definitions document, and FAQs document (this can be updated continuously after the course is live as questions roll in), and a pdf printout of the slides to take notes.

Chapter: A Chapter is a ~15 minute section within each course. The “Welcome” Chapter may only be a few minutes long, but every other chapter should be targeted to be between 10-20 minutes. When recording the courses, the chapters will each be separate videos, but the entire course can still be recorded at once if preferred, the recording just needed to be stopped and restarted at the transition point between each chapter.

Citations/ credits: All photos & figures that are not owned by AZ Water need to have credit noted on them, which can be done various ways including citing the photographer or source or noting “photo provided courtesy of XXX.” Font of the citation should be size 10 font. Course: A Course is a 1-2 hour class consisting of multiple, ~15 minute chapters. A Course could be a stand-alone course, or part of a planned-out series of courses on a topic

Introduction to XXX Course: The Introduction to “_____” Courses or “Intro” Course is intended to provide a high-level overview on a topic to a target audience that may have little to no experience in the water industry, and potentially a high school level education. For operator-focused courses like “Introduction to Wastewater Treatment” there should be two Intro Courses, broken into a part 1 and part 2 in order to cover the basics of that topic. In general, the first course developed on a topic for AZ Water WELL should be an Introduction course.

Part #: for any courses that would be substantially longer than 2 hours, the course needs to be broken down into multiple parts.

PowerPoint template: Each course must use the AZ Water WELL-branded PowerPoint template that will be provided for use on this platform. For sponsored or co-branded content the sponsor or partner organization’s logo can be on the template with sizing equivalent to the AZ Water logo

Quizzes/Questions: Each Chapter should have at least 1 quiz question to keep the learners engaged. The quizzes will be automatically brought up by the training platform once each chapter ends, and will be uploaded onto the platform based on questions provided by the course instructor(s).

Target Audience: Introduction Courses need to target an audience that may have little to no experience in the water industry, and potentially a high school level education. This may include people new to the workforce, operators, would-be operators, or other water professional learning a topic for the first time. Other non-Introduction courses may have differing audiences, and it is important to keep the target audience in mind when developing a course to keep the content relevant and engaging.

Title/Course Names: When proposing a course, the Course can either be named “Introduction to XXX” if it is going to be the overview, entry level course on that topic, or named after the specific topic it covers if it is a more advanced course. Course names can include the words “Introduction” or “Part #,” but they should not include the words Module, Chapter, 101, 200, etc or any other words that may create confusion with overall course structure. If multiple courses are being created on a topic after the initial Intro course(s) they should be named as follows “Discipline Name: Course Name,” for example “Wastewater Treatment: Tertiary Treatment” or “Wastewater Treatment: Tertiary Treatment, Part 1.”

Videos/b-roll, etc: Any video content that is used as b-roll or as part of the recorded PowerPoint presentations must be properly cited with rights given to AZ Water to use the recorded content. Videos available on Youtube, etc that do not belong to AZ Water or a partnering/sponsoring entity for the course should not be used.
