Contest Details


Calling all filmmakers! Help us spread the word about why water is important to you, or tell us about what you are doing in recognition of water’s importance – submit your video for a chance to win one of three cash prizes, winners will also be recognized on social media and invited to an awards luncheon with viewing of their films at Arizona’s 107th Town Hall – “Keeping Arizona’s Water Glass Full” event on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.

Prizes


1 3rd Place Winner will receive $200

1 2nd Place Winner will receive $300

1 Grand Prize Winner will receive $500

 

Winning videos and filmmakers will also be promoted on AZ Water Association’s social media profiles.

  


Official Rules


Deadline to submit is midnight MST Nov 6th, 2015.

 

To be considered, videos must be posted to the AZ Water Association Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/AZWaterAssociation with the hashtag #AZWaterVids

 

Video must explain why water is important to you, or what you are doing in recognition of water’s importance.

 

Videos must not exceed 2 minutes in length, must be “family friendly” and not include profanity.

 

Content of video must be factually correct. Sources should be credited in video description (ie, in description on YouTube, Vimeo, etc). Entrants may wish to utilize resources listed below.

 

Winners will be determined at the discretion of a panel of judges chosen by AZ Water Association, with preference shown to videos that are engaging, entertaining and educational in nature. Judging criteria will also include originality of concept, number of water ideas/facts presented, and clarity of presentation (both audio and visual). 

 

Winners will be notified prior to the Arizona Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, November 15, 2015, via Facebook, and publicly announced via AZ Water Association’s official Twitter and Facebook pages at the conclusion of the awards ceremony.

 

Contest is open to the public; entrants must reside in the United States. AZ Water Association Board Members, family of AZ Water Association Board Members and AZ Water contract employees are not eligible for entry.

Contestant Agreement

 

In consideration of my video submission I hereby grant the following rights and permissions to AZ Water Association and Arizona Town Hall and their subsidiaries, heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, with his/her authority and permission:

 

They have the irrevocable, perpetual and unrestricted right and permission to use my video submission upon linking to the video in a post on AZ Water Association’s Facebook page. Upon doing so, I grant permission to take, use, re-use, publish, and republish videos submitted by me in which I may be included, in whole or in part, or composite or distorted in character or form, without restriction as to changes or alterations, in conjunction with my own or a fictitious name, or reproductions thereof in color or otherwise, made through any medium at a professional studio or elsewhere, and in any and all media now or hereafter known, specifically including but not limited to print media and distribution over the internet for illustration, promotion, art, editorial, advertising, trade, or any other purpose whatsoever. I specifically consent to the digital compositing or distortion of the video including without restriction any changes or alterations as to color, size, shape, perspective, context, foreground or background.

 

I hereby warrant that I am over eighteen and legally have the right to contract in my own name. I may continue to use my video submission for other purposes, including in my portfolio. By submitting this video I acknowledge that I have obtained appropriate legal permission for use of any images, music, video clips and other media used and have obtained appropriate releases for any individuals contained in the video. I have read the above authorization, release, and agreement, prior to its execution, and I am fully familiar with the contents of this document. This document shall be binding upon me and my heirs, legal representatives, and assigns upon submitting my video to AZ Water Association.
